I was born in Sandusky, Ohio, home of Cedar Point, America's Roller Coast. I went to Vermilion High School where I played softball, basketball, ran track, and was also a cheerleader.
In 1994, I went to Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where I was a cheerleader for the basketball team. I also played intramural volleyball at WSU.
In 1996, I decided to join the US Air Force Reserves. This is when I began going to the gym on a regular basis. I met my wonderful husband at Wright-Patt Air Force Base in 1998 at a step aerobics class. So in 2000, I graduated WSU with a BS in Business Management. On October 28, 2000 Matt and I got married and moved to sunny California. I was SO far from home, I was miserable. I stopped going to the gym (which made it worse).
In 2003 the most wonderful and worst thing happened to me....I got pregnant!!! I was sick for the WHOLE NINE MONTHS. I had to have an emergency C-Section. It was the worst year of my life (I thought). After having a beautiful baby girl, I realized that it wasn't so bad. That is basically how this whole thing got started. I figured if I can go though 9 months of sickness and a horrible delivery, then I can diet and train to compete. I always made excuses why I couldn't compete in the past. Since I was a teenager, I really wanted to compete in Ms. Fitness. So in 2005, I did some research. I found WTF (Women's Tri-Fitness). That sounded like fun so I went to Tampa and started training. I competed in Vegas that year and placed 15th (out of 200). I was so excited. So in 2006, I finally competed in a local Ms. Fitness competition. I qualified for Ms. Fitness in Vegas which was a long-time dream. But then, the BEST thing happened to me.....MIKE DAVIES!!! And, well....the rest is history.
